I have a hard time getting my mind to shut up, but it does when I knit.
Knitting becomes extra special when I use my own yarns, spun up on one of my spindles. I love to create all these wonky fibres and then, when they are all finished, knit them up into something simple.
When I see my knitting projects, I feel both joyful at all the color and when I touch it I feel calm, as if I knit my stillness into the fabric I created.
And that is a wonderful, joyful gift of knitting.
