*Be kind to the world*These past weeks I have meandered between despair about the world and feeling hopeful and positive.

I know the first emotion doesn’t help anyone, me included.

The second one gets me to sit here and write every day. I think that if we let despair (and his unhappy band brothers: fear, anger and hatred) win in ourselves, we all lose.

Kindness seems so counter-intuitive with these opposing forces, but it is a gift that keeps on giving because it is filled with love (and that makes the world go ’round!)

I love to cultivate and spread kindness in a loving kindness meditation. This is a wonderful meditation that always makes me feel calm, centered and loving.
