Don’t throw any writing away, no matter how bad

I am editing my novel currently, and one of the things that keeps getting filled up in my Scrivener file is my cut text folder. Every time I cut something from the novel, no matter how small, I add it to the folder.

Some of the words are utter garbage and I can’t believe I wrote them, some just weren’t a good fit where I put them.

This folder is a pot of gold. I have already pulled some of the words out to make a completely unrelated story. Some I have edited and added to another spot in the journal.

A lot of snippets are still in the folder, and a lot may not come out at all, but it is a perfect percolator. Who knows what will come out.

To me, that’s perfect!
